Motivation behind Parivartana Foundation
Inspiration & Dedication:
Parivartana is inspired by the 60+ years of dedicated, self-less community service of Late Shri T.R.Shamanna (TRS) (1912-1989). Coming from a humble rural background, as a student TRS got deeply involved in the freedom struggle and underwent imprisonment. As a teacher he nurtured the future of hundreds of students. As an educationist he helped development of several educational institutions. As chairman of Central Relief Committee he was instrumental in setting up Beggar Relief centers in several districts of Karnataka. As an elected representative, he was instrumental in reducing the burden of property tax, water tax, cycle tax and also in development of several new extensions of Bangalore. As a Social worker he was instrumental in building several social organizations, Co-Operative Banks etc. TRS led a very simple life, with Gandhian values and was easily approachable by one and all at all times of the day or night. "Karma Yogi" aptly describes the personality of Late TRS. Overall TRS touched the life of thousands of families and is fondly remembered even today.
"T.R.Shamanna Memorial Public Charitable Trust" is set up to continue and follow the footsteps of Late TRS. The dedication, commitment and self-less service of Late TRS will act as our guiding force.
